As Youth Engagement Coordinator with Beaver Valley Outreach, I work directly with young people, families, schools, volunteers, community organizations, and municipal partners across The Blue Mountains and surrounding area. I have helped create inclusive opportunities for recreation, leadership, volunteering, skill-building, and community participation while ensuring young people have meaningful ways to contribute their ideas and perspectives.

I also help lead Georgian Bay Youth Roots, a collaborative network connecting organizations and service providers working with local youth. Through this role, I have gained experience identifying shared priorities, strengthening partnerships, coordinating resources, and helping organizations work together more effectively.

As co-founder of Mixed Movements, I have developed accessible opportunities in sport, outdoor recreation, leadership, and lifesaving. Building and operating a community-based small business has given me hands-on experience with budgeting, planning, staffing, risk management, partnership development, evaluation, and responding thoughtfully when circumstances change.

My background in sport extends from grassroots recreation to high-performance environments. As a coach, learning facilitator, and evaluator, I have supported athletes and coaches as they develop their skills, confidence, and leadership abilities. These roles require preparation, accountability, sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to make responsible decisions in changing conditions.

Environmental stewardship is also central to my community involvement. I have supported youth-led climate action, tree planting, waste-reduction education, and collaborative projects that encourage people to care for the land and water that define The Blue Mountains.

Across these roles, I have developed a grounded understanding of community life and the pressures facing residents, families, local organizations, and small businesses. I know how to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, work through competing needs, and build practical solutions with people of different ages, experiences, and perspectives.
